2008 It Was, What It Was......

I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me.
~Anais Nin

So I guess I'm supposed to wrap up 2008, it seems to be what everyone else is doing to today. Besides I need to kill some time because I'm waiting for a more a appropriate time to start drinking it's only 3pm!!! I'm trying to hold off till 6pm or maybe 5pm, who knows. 2008 wasn't my best year on record but I learned a lot and had some good times.

~Work~

I lost my beloved boss "Tiny" in March (they laid her off b/c she was preggo w/ her 3rd child which made her no longer useful... long story). Then the company was sold in August and I lost my job!! Even though all that horrible shit when down with "Tiny", I loved that job. I gave my all everyday. It was my "first grown-up job". I was starting to do stuff that I actually go to school for. I actually got to do Marketing stuff! Even though it was in the sports industry I didn't care I was given the opportunity to do something I actually wanted to do. Then my boss sold the company and shipped the entire operation to Chicago! I didn't go. I think that could have been a mistake, because I'm here now jobless.... I did temp at ESPN from September-Novemeber. It was cool to "work" there but all I did was make girls folders and staple contracts and develop an intimate relationship with the copy machine. I learned never to take a job for granted. I don't pity myself for not having a job anymore. Sh*t no one has a job right now! I'm not ashamed of my weekly State of CT check. I did work for it in the past. I'm not taking anything for anyone.
I've also decied that since the economy is soo sucky and that I will have unemployment until the beginning of next summer that I'm going to school full-time while I can so I can graduate faster, so when the economy picks up I'll have my degree!!! :)

~Money~
I don't have any, well I did until the end of August!!! Except for the unemployment check that I recieve every week from the State of CT! CT minimum wage goes up effective tomorrow, will my unemployment check go up?? It's not much at all but it pays my bills and there's enough left over for Newport Lights and Bacardi every week so I guess I can survive. I also some how manage to support my hair and makeup habits!!! I didn't learn any lessons about "saving for a rainy day" or "an emergency fund". I buy too much sh*t. I may never learn that lesson. I thought saving money was for old people, old people need "emergency funds!! This economy taught me that no one is safe and when I get my next 9-5 I'm going to save the shi*t outta my pay, unless I need hair, hair services, or a Sephora fix.

~School~
I learned that I actually seriosuly have ADD!!
Going to school online rocks!!! Empire State College Rocks!!! It's great for my "attention issues, b/c I don't have to sit in lectures or "go to class"
Starbucks & Borders are my favorite study spots.
It doesn't matter how long it takes you too get your degree!!! I'll have mine in Dec. '09. So what if it's taken me since I was 18 on and off to finish. So what if my roomates from college will be getting or already have their Masters and I haven't finished my undergrad. We all have our own paths. I happen to take the long road.

~Relationships, Friendships & Family~
WTF, do I even want to go there. I'm still w/ the bf but our relationship is very rocky. We piss each other off, hate each other and at the same time we can't break up. We disagree on everything. We can't even agree that 2pm is too early to start drinking!!!

I haven't made any trips back home to Long Island this year (either b/c I was working 60+ hours a week or working 0 hours a week and gas was like $72 a gallon). I miss my home skillez out there soo bad. I missed the birth of a good friends 3rd baby Kingston Carter ♥ I was there for the birth of Makayla (8) & Kaylin (3) but I missed out on Kingston, and I feel really guilty about that.
"M" and I are no longer speaking b/c somehow everyone elses sh*t talking tore us apart. I don't think we will ever speak again. We are both too hard-headed to say "let's just cut the sh*t". Her husband also did something that I can never forgive him for. He made me realize that people can still be true bigoted a-holes in today's day and age. My issues with him have nothing to do w/ her. I can always just be cordial and ignore him. He's to ingornant to change and it's not my job to eduacate the world on the matter of race relations.

I did become really good friends w/ "C", she's the bomb. I wish she would check her e-mail more. We worked together and entertained each other. We laughed hard and sometimes cried harder. We endured the great lay-off of August '08 together. We took Power Hour Aqua Areobics at the Y with the old ladies twice a week. We went on adventures clubbing in New Haven, and even in lameo Danbury. We lost weight together (she's keeping it off and looking fab, I on the other hand gained it all back). We discovered Trivia Night at Widow Brown's on Tuesday nights and got our best score ever last night 36!

Nothing has changed much with my family. I thankfully still have both grandmothers, and everyone is pretty much healthy, & happy & semi-employed. Mom weighs like 106lbs and I'm jealous. I take after my daddy's side. Short & Curvy.

I miss my rommies from New Paltz!!! We need to have a get together really soon before one more of y'all get married or have more babies!

~Best of 2008 & Lessons Learned~

My family reuion in Memphis (July '08) one of my best trips ever. My first time to the "dirtty south". I went to the Peabody Hotel, Graceland, The Lorraine Hotel (where MLK was assasinated), The Civil Rights Meseum, Beale St., saw the Mississippi River.

I ate my ass FAT Chicken & Waffles, Fried Chicken, Red Velvet Cake, Fried Skillet Pie, BBQ, biscuits, cobblers & sweet tea!!!!! Had a great time with my Mom! We played with our Sleep Number Beds in the Hotel every night like children.

I got to go a real BSS (Beauty Supply Store), and stocked up on Haircare Products that I can't get "up North". Yes even on vaca I'm on the prowl for hair sh*t!
It was hott ass hell down there!!! 105 all day and all night!

*Going to Moghegan Sun w/ my bf w/ a $20 gambling limit per person!!! Playing Nickel machines all night & eating at the buffet :P)

*Discovering BHM!!! I finally found a place where I'm at home and I've made some great friends!!! Shout out to Tigereyes, Hairgirl203 and all my other BHM Divas!!! Wether I'm in the "weaves & extensions" section or the "Talk, Talk, Talk, section I always find myself entertained and informed.
*I learned to stop using "black-glue" and get sew-ins!!! My hair is growing beautifully!!! I even learned and did my own FULL SEW-IN w/ a net!!!! (Took me 15 hrs), nevertheless I did it!!!! I learned to stop wasting $ on strangly BSS hair and invest in Indian Remy Hair!!! I can re-use it for up to a year if I care for it properly. Although I'm "building a hair stash" and I now have an addiction to different textures and want them all!!!
*I learned which hair vendors are great and which ones will rip you off and take your $ and run.

*Discovering the "blogger" world.

*I'm really immature & silly, it's my nature.

*Hello Kitty still is and will always be the sh*t.

~Drinking Lessons~
*I've learned not to get really drunk be flirtly w/ your bf's bff, b/c boys are dumb and they take it seriously then call you a hoe even though " I was just playin'", seriously I was. I'm flirty in nature, some people don't know how to take it. Just b/c I tapped your crocth w/ a flip-flop doesn't mean I want your crotch. Get over yourself!

*I've learned not to get really drunk fight with your bf for no reason.

*I've learned not to get really drunk and throw an empty bottle of Twisted Tea on the garage floor to prove that "I'm a bad-assssssss"

*I've learned not to kick the garage door down when I'm drunk either. Doors cost $70 to replace.

*I've learned not to wear two layers of Spanxx to your bfs Holiday Party and bring a small purse. Bring a bigger purse not a clutch. Thigh-highs & Spanxx don't fit in my lil' Coach purse.

*I've learned that even though the open bar drinks are weak not to drink 7 of them then go to another bar have 2 real drinks, some shots, then continue to drink at home.

*I've learned that people don't appreaciate you drunk dialing at random hours. They don't care how much I ♥ them. Some people also get cranky about drunk txting too.....

*I'm trying to learn too drink and leave my cell phone, and internet alone.

*I learned NOT to call your ex from 4yrs years ago and cry into the phone and I say "I'm sorry" repeatly in slurred speech.

*I learned too always remove my makeup and tie up my hair before passing out!

*I think I drank way too much in '08... Oh I learned that I can drink like a dude!

I think I've confessed/written enough. It's time for me to brush my hair, put on my face and plant my ass somewhere, make a drink and eat my scrimps, tacquitos & chips & dip!! I'm stayin' in w/ the bf tonight & I don't mind at all!

Happy New Years Y'all

Staining/Doctoring Closure Piece

I was just reading a thread on BHM (Black Hair Media), in the Weaves & Extensions section. That inspired me to do a post about staining a closure to match the scalp of a darker skinned chica! So here's how I doctored mine.
<-- As you can see the closure "scalp" is very light and doesn't match my scalp/skintone at all! So after reading some threads on BHM I decided to take it off (un-sew it) and try the Tea Staining Method. Make sure you use BLACK TEA!! I'm not sure why but everyone says to use Black Tea. Sorry I don't have pics
of the entire process. I did this before I started documenting
Before everything hair or makeup related. It's intimidating to do this the first time especially after you just spent $150 + on a clousre peice. You don't want to ruin it, but trust me you wont. It's only tea. Next time I wont be a dumb dumb and do this before I have my hair done so I don't have to take it out and put it back on. Thank God I'm crafty with a weaving needle and some thread.

Supplies
 • Towel(s)
 • Wide Tooth comb (y'all shouldn't be brushing your clousures!)
 • Clousure Piece (duh) braid it in lose pigtails so the hair doesn't get in your way.
 • Black Tea (got mine at at Target it was like $2 for 50 Target brand!)
 • A plastic bowl (like some Gladware you don't care too much about).

Steps
 • Prep your area lay down a towel on your work area, (mine was my carpet)
 • Ok so get your kettle and boil some water.
 • Pour the water in your bowl add your tea bags I've read you can use 2-10. I used 10 b/c I have a darker skin tone.
 • Let the tea "steep" for 10 mins.
 • Dip your closure piece in, (scalp part down) I let it sit in the Black Tea for 1 hr. (I checked it after 30mins)
 • Grab a towel, lightly towel dry it be careful not to "scrunch"
 • Let the clousure air dry completly before rinsing it!!! So the stain can "set" Very Important!!!
 • After it's dried, rinse it with cool water NO SHAMPOO!!
 • After it's dry, go get your hair did or re-install it, like I did

After After (it wasn't completly dry in that pic)

Presto! Note your clousure should not be the exact color of your face no one's scalp is the color of there face. After I doctored it I was a lot happier wearing the closure. Oh specs on the hair & closure.

Shopped Out! Semi-Annual & Clearance Sales

Whewww........ I'm shopped out. I hit the mall to check out the big clearance and "semi-annual" sales. First of all the mall is still hella crowded! I forgot that people are off till New Years. My unemployed butt is used to having the place to myself. I was very good and didn't lose my retail mind. I browsed the MAC counter at MACY*S, I was a good girl didn't get a thing I checked out the Dame Edna Collection, wasn't too impressed. I did score a Body by Victoria IPEX Bra for $24.99 (full price was $44). It's a boring beige but there wasn't much in the bins for the big chested ladies :( I also got some 5 for $25 undies. I feel like my undies have been disappearing lately........ I may go online later and see if I can order some clearance bras for my big ass chest online!
I got two clear large makeup bags/cases (large & medium) at Sephora. I have a huge train case for home but I out grew my other case I use to take back & forth to the bf's house. I finally got my "Beauty Insider" card. I wanted to spend more time in Sephora but my friend C isn't really interested in makeup so I didn't want to keep her in there forever. I also remember that I ordered 2 palettes from Coastal Scents which should be arriving shortly, so I didn't really need to be in Sephora. There's still a few places I fogot to visit at the mall Old Navy, Litmann Jewlerly (for charms for my Zable bracelet), and I need some jeans, but since I have nothing but time I'm sure I'll be back there soon. I'm out. I have to go to Wal-Mart (please God don't let it be a nightmare in there) to pick up a RX and look at shizz I don't need!

Straight & Silky: Hair Night

My "hair maintenance" schedule has been off a bit because of the holidays. So tonight I washed my hair with Creme of Nature poo & con, then let it air dry. I figured I'd post some pics of my hair air-dryed and how & what I used to straighten my hair. I'm currently rocking some fierce extensions! I ordered the hair from Halley's Curls back in September. I've only ordered from Halley's once, but there's some drama going on about her as a vendor on BHM (Black Hair Media) so I'm a bit wary of the company now.
I ordered 12oz of Indian Remy Hair 18" (I'm a length whore) (GW =Gentle Wave) and a matching (GW Large Closure). Remy hair is an investment and can last you many installs if you care for it properly. I plan on getting a new install in about 2wks and I plan on using the same hair.
I ♥ my flat iron!!! I bought it at Sally's it's a Jibre De Paris Ceramic Tourmaline iron
1 1/2. It gets my hair pin straight!!!! Excuse my face in these pics. I had on no makeup and in no way was I looking cute. I'ts very IMPORTANT to use a heat protecter when using a flat iron!! I use Ion (Anti-Frizz Solutions) Heat Protection Straightening Iron Spray, which I also got
at Sally's and it's not too expensive. I believe it was like $5.
A Thermal Heat Protectant is IMPORTANT for the health of the hair and prevents breakage, and burning.

What do you think?

Well peeps I'm out. I tried to do a video about the new Urban Decay & Balm Lady Palettes but I was having majors ISSUES figuring out how to look in the web cam, apply makeup and talk at the same time. I need to find a tutorial about making a tutorial :) Tomorrow, I'll be at Victoria's Secret bin digging for discounts because they are having their big Semi-Annual Sale! I've got DD Cups and those dissappear the fastest. Usually the left overs are fugly. Why do the big boobed girls get such crappy bra selections!!!

Christmas Wrapup

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas!!! I did!! :) My thoughts are very scattered and random right now so forgive me. So the bf really wanted sheepskin slippers for Christmas this year, so I found this website that carries everything sheepskin. He really liked the slippers. Only problem is they didn't fit. He's an 11 and I ordered 11-11.5 so I have to figure out there return policy and ship them back and order the next size up!!! He loves them though they are super lush!!!!!! They have a great sole for wearing them to take the dog out or doing stuff in the garage. I love giving presents but with my current job situation (none!) I can't really give like I used too. I also renewed his subscription to Playboy because I'm just nice like that. I would definatley order from Sheepskin.com again, the slippers were $47.99+ shipping and which was cheaper than Eddie Bauer and L.L. Bean, and they had all the "features" he wanted (he really, really wanted indoor/outdoor soles on them). Only thing that kinda sucks is that they are in Washington and I'm in CT and it took a long time to be delivered but I didn't fuss because they had to travel all the way across the country.

Before (he really needed replacements!)

The new ones I ordered!

Overall Christmas was good. I'm glad it's over! We got a little too merry on Christmas Eve, stayed up really late. Drove down to my parents in the morning for brunch and gifts, ( I think the Mimosas I made cured my hangover!) Then we drove back to his house and "hosted" his family 12 people for dinner. We ate and drank all day and night and played Monoply till 6am!!! I'm not drinking AGAIN, well until New Year's Eve.....
I got some really great and thoughtful gifts! His mom got me some comfy slippers and a beatiful sterling silver charm braclet (can't think of the name and I left the book at home), but you can add beads and charms to it!! My mom got my an Urban Decay Ammo Shadow Box!!! She tried superhard to get me the UD Book of Shadows Palette but it's sold out everywhere and I know she tried. My momma is the kind of momma that will "go all out for her baby", she fought for a Cabbage Patch Doll for me back in the day :)

She (and Dad, but Mom does all the actaul getting) also got me gift cards to my favorite "study spots" Starbucks & Borders ($25 each), my 2009 Hello Kitty calendar! (That's a must, I have to have a Hello Kitty calendar every year or ELSE!!! (kidding, kinda....)
The lovely bf gave me $100!! Which is what I asked for. He kinda spelled my name wrong on the card!!!<--My name is not KENBALL!!! It's KENDALL!!! You'd think that after 3 years we'd have that part down. But I give him props for actually putting it in a card and not just handing it to me and saying "here's your $100 to get your hair done babe". So I'll be making an appointment with my favorite hair stylists within the next 3 weeks b/c my hair is starting to look harsh. Thank God I have remy hair extensions now so I can re-use from install to install. I'm thinking about taking this hair down and coloring it but I'm scurred!! I don't want to ruin my investment. I have some remy hair in my "hair stash" that I would be to upset if I ruined maybe I can experiment with that, but the wefts are hand-tied and I don't know if I want to experiment on it, I was stashing it for the spring/summer b/c it's a pretty light brown with golden highlights. Grandma #1 and Grandma #2 gave me for $$$$ too!!! I'm rolling in the dough! Although I have to pay some bills (booo) but I did treat myself to a "mini-haul" at Sephora on Christmas Eve. Today I went to Target to get my doggie some treats and ended up treating myself to some stuff I didn't "need". Picked up some Target brand Make-Up Cleansing Towelettes (some times I'm just too lazy to wash my face, they are also great for removing make-up mistakes, or removing eye make-up before face scrubbing! Grabbed a N.Y.C. Brow/Eyeliner Pencil in Dark Brown (922A) they do the job for $1.00! Got three Sonia Kashuk brushes (eyebrow/eyelash, large crease, & large angeled eye shadow) and a Sonia Kashuk roll-up brush holder!! So cute!! My brushes are a mix of Mary Kay (a very brief carrer I had, E.L.F. and some other kinds I can't identify but really like. So that's it for now I think. I'm going to go play with my stuff and catch up on my blogroll and give some love to my beatiful blogger friends. I'm sure I'll be back!

FABB

The Curious Case

So tonight was date night (with myself ♥). I shoved a Diet Cherry Pepsi in my purse and I went to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" It was an amazing movie. I give it 3 stars. It was really long 2hrs. 47mins!!! I was getting a little ADD towards the end. If it wasn't for my ADD I'd probably give it 3.5 Stars. I'm not great at movie synopsis so here's the write up from Yahoo Movies: Benjamin Button, born in New Orleans in 1918, is no ordinary infant. A doctor declares his body to be aged like that of a man in his eighties, and no one expects him to live too long. Despite predictions, Benjamin survives, seeming in fact to grow younger and stronger. During his childhood he befriends young Daisy, who is unafraid of the "old man." He lives on to attend school, fight in a war, and baffle everyone he meets. As his body grows gradually younger, his heart learns the timeless nature of love.
Kate Blanchett was amazing and strikingly beautiful. I was never one of those "OMG Brad Pitt is so hott" people, but my mind has been changed! As he was growing younger he was looking kinda FINYE! I think that I ♥ Brad now ::blush:: I mean visually, he got too many damn kids for me in reality.

I many other things to share but I'll post tomorrow-ish or something. I just can't seem to get my thoughts together right now.

Sephora Mini Spree!!!

So I know that's it's better to give than to receive.... But I was naughty yesterday and I gave to myself!!! I accidentally ended up in Sephora yesterday & I found some goodies that I couldn't resist. My only complaint is that stalker saleslady wouldn't leave me alone. I felt bad because she was kinda old like 65+, but she wouldn't leave me alone. I ended up dodging her by the perfumes and picked up some swag for me!!! Just 3 little things no big deal......

I got my Urban Decay Eye Primer (I've been wanting to try it for a while.)

The Shady Lady Blam Palette is AWESOME!! I tried to do a look last night (Trivia Night @ Widow Brown's), but I was in a rush and it didn't turn out the way that I wanted it too. Oh well . The color is super pigmented even on a dark-skinned chica like myself. I do want to try applying with a wet brush to see what this stuff can truely do! Some of the darker shadows can be used as eyeliner too. Something I'm not good at but willing to learn. I'm not good with non pencil/pen liners It's a super cute pallette with 9 shadow/liners and it comes with a mirror.

Colors:

Caught in the act Courtney ~Shadow & Liner
Shameless Shana ~ Shadow
Luscious Lani ~ Shadow
Jealous Jordana ~ Shadow & Liner
Risque Renee ~ Shadow & Liner
Curvy Cami ~Shadow
Jet-Setting Jennifer ~ Shadow
All About Alex ~ Shadow
Easy Wheezie ~ Shadow

I also got a Cargo shadow quad in "Bahama"the colors are really pretty but pretty neutral but I've been on the hunt for a new neutral set! No cutsey names for these colors.

I'm off now, Grandma #1 & #2 should be arriving shortly and I have some last minute chores to do before they get here. I really just want to take a NAP!
XOXO

Photo Coasters

So my other Christmas DIY gift is done. I picked up some photo coasters from Micheal's ($14.99 each). They come in a nice wooden base. I got a cherry colored one for Grandma #1 and a darker wood for Grandma #2. I also had to run to Office Max to grab some photo paper and they were buy 1 get 1 FREE!!! So now I have tons of photo paper. I only ended up using two sheets. You don't need alot of supplies which makes this project super easy. You could probably do this with scrapbook paper if you don't want to use photos. I'm thinking about making some Hello Kitty ones for myself............ :)

Supplies:
 • Photo Coaster Sets
 • Pictures (4 per set)
 • Photo paper for printing your photos or pics you have on hand
 • Glass cutting mat for cropping (not necessary)
 • Craft Knife for photo cropping (scissors will work too)
 • Wrapping Paper or gift bags
 • Tissue Paper
 • These were so easy to make I cropped my photos so they were 2.5 X 2.5 & then put the photos in the coasters and bam dunzo!

I think they came out pretty darn cute!

Photo Magnets

My Photo Magnets are dunzo!!!! Here's the supply list in case we forgot! Thanks again to Kimberly Tia ♥ for the run down on how to do this super fun project!
 • · 1 bag of Marble Accents (flat) (you find them near the floral dept)
 • · Amazing Quick Hold Craft Glue (try to keep it capped as to go, it gets clogged easily)
 • · Fiskars- Fingertip Control Craft Knife
 • · ProMag Magnets (50 come in one pack)
 • · Craft Punch 3/4 Inch
 • · Scrapbook Paper, Newspaper, Magazine Pages (anything you want your magnet to be)
 • · Scrapbooking cutting glass board (don't want to scratch up my workstation using my craft knife!)
 • · Scissors will work if you don't have a craft knife.

Then glue your "punched" paper to the magnet: Then glue your magnet to the clear flat marble: Let it "set" or "cure" for a little bit:

I found it easier to punch lots of paper then glue to my magnets then glue the marbles, I went a little "paper punch crazy.....
I found some empty jewelry boxes at the craft store. I went a little crazy and made bunches of them. I "punched" a lot of paper to make more for later. This is a quick and fun project. So lets get crafty!!!

Finished Project ♥

Photo Coasters are next, I'm going to start working on them now! I also lost my damn unemployed mind to Sephora today more on that later!
Oh I also got a really cute Hello Kitty Scrapbook kit at Micheal's! I'll share the dets later

XOXO

At least the Tree Is Done.......

Today was a busy day. Went to the craft store to do my magnet project. Decorated the Christmas tree. Went shopping for the grandmas (couldn't find anything). I'm did see these really cute photo coasters at Micheals' so it looks like I'll be going back there tomorrow (already been there twice today). They are a cute idea and the grandmothers love pics.

I really wanted to post a blog about my magnets they came out really cute. I promise I will tomorrow. I'm out, Little People Big World is on and some kinda pumpkin launching tragedy is about to go down. Don't know why I'm watching I don't really like the show.(I
have nothing against Little People!) I just don't like the father, something about him bugs me.

I Hate Book Bashing.. But...

I hate to bash a book. But I just finished reading The Gift Bag Chronicles by Hilary De Vries. It really sucked. I ♥ Chic Lit, but this book was really bad. I kept reading it because I thought it would get better eventually but it never happened. I had this book on my bookshelf at home, I bought it a long time ago read 5 pages and put it back on the shelf. The book was about an Event Planner in LA. All she seemed to do was complain about her job. It just sucked alot, it was boring. Nothing interesting happened. It was basically about a woman in her mid 30's who works too much and has a sucky boyfriend who lives in NYC. I'm really dissappointed. I have about a month off of school so I will be reading many books over my mini vaction. Probably nothing by Hilary De Vries. She has another book out called So Five Minutes Ago. But I dunno if its worth the read, it kinda seems like the characters in the book are the same.
I think my next read will be Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Wiesburger or maybe not, most people on Amazon.com gave it 1 or 2 stars and said it was boring. I saw it at the library so if they have it it wont cost me anything but time. M is here so I'm bored & only have 2 Twisted Teas left :0( I don't remember drinking 4 last night. I'm going to have to start buying the 12 packs......

M

Ughhh, M is here again...... I think he's staying over, gross!

It's Snowing

It's snowing, so I decided to be corny and take some pics!!
Me!!!Traffic Jam and it's only been snowing for an hour!!

My car!

I Love, Love, LOVE ♥

I Love, Love, LOVE ♥ Going to the movies ALONE. Yes alone! Well with my 3 favorite friends Me, Myself, & I. It's like total freedom! I can see what I want to see & when I want to see it. No one is sitting next to me talking, giggling or laughing. It's almost a stress reliever for me. My mind is usually clear when I walk out the theater.
Tonight I was bored and I decided to go see Nothing Like the Holidays. It was such a cute movie! And there were some sexy Latino men in that movie. Shhhh I've always had a weird nerdy crush on John Leguizamo. ♥ I also ♥ Freddy Rodriguez too..... (from Six Feet Under). Jay Rodriguez is fine too. Also Jaslene Gonzalez for from Americas Next Top Model winner of Cycle 8 was in the movie for like a minute. She's a beauty.

Here's the synopsis of the movie:

It's Christmastime and the far-flung members of the Rodriguez family are converging at their parents' home in Chicago to celebrate the season and rejoice in their youngest brother's safe return from combat overseas. For Jesse, coming home has rekindled feelings for an old flame, although she can't seem to forgive him for leaving. His older sister Roxanna, a struggling actress, has been chasing her Hollywood dreams for years with little to show for it. And much to the dismay of their mother Anna, eldest brother Mauricio brings home a high-powered executive wife who would rather raise capital than a child. In the course of one eventful week, traditions will be celebrated, secrets revealed and major life decisions made. It all begins when Anna announces to her children she is divorcing their father Eduardo. The shock waves from this familial upheaval prompt Roxanna, Mauricio and Jesse, each in their own way, to reevaluate the past and rethink the future. But when the Rodriguezes learn that one of their own is facing a true crisis, they instinctively pull together: Old resentments are forgotten, familial bonds are re-affirmed and the healing power of laughter works its magic as the family discovers they are much stronger than they ever realized.

I give the movie 3 Stars!
I give the eye candy 4 Stars!

Christmas is like next Thursday!! Oh Snap!

I've just been informed that Christmas is next THURSDAY!! I've been so wrapped up in finals that I completely lost track of time. Sucks, looks like I'm going to have to beg for extensions (not for my hair :) I know I can bang out everything by Friday but I can't take the stress of being positive. Yes, I have all day to get the stuff done so I have no excuses but it's not realistic to say "I'm gonna sit here all day and research, write, etc... " I get writers block, and I have a major case of ADD & once I lose my focus it takes a while to get it back.
Arrgggg, there's something I really want to blog about but I can't too public, and it's more of a vent and I might not mean it later. I'm just annoyed.

So I found the most fantastic line of jewelry from Zales a entire Hello Kitty Line!!!!! I'd like something from this line..
