Stuck in the Airport & On Broadway....

Hi Y'all!!!  I hope that everyone had a Great Holiday!!!  I went back to CT for Christmas! I was home for a week and the time flew by so fast! Next thing I knew I was back at the airport! I officially hate LaGurardia airport!! That place is like a refugee camp!!  My flight back to ATL was at 1:00pm.  I got to the airport at 11:00am because of the a$$hole Christmas Terrorist made security tighter! The line security line was soo long I wasn't sure if I was still at LGA! I think the line started in New Jersey!!! The line was crazy long but moved quickly. Since my flight was at 1:00pm so I dropped my pre-flight RX and I hear "this is your captain the rudder is broken and we lost cabin pressure on the way from ATL to NY so hold tight were gonna send some guys up there to fix it ASAP!"  I appreciated his honestly but I didn't need to hear all of the business!!  I'm anxiety stricken enough! Thank GOD the drugs kicked in & I didn't freak out! I'm in no way saying they should use a broken plane I dont' want a broken plane but I need a solution before the durgs wear off! The rest of the story goes like this:
Captain : "hey y'all! They are looking for a ladder.... We hope to leave by 2:30pm...."
Captain : "good news is they found a ladder... Bad news is that it's too windy and it doesn't reach high enough, so we need to locate a cherry picker
Caption: They can't figure out where the LEAK is coming from, hopefully we will leave at 3-4:30pm
Captian: Hey y'all this probably isn't going to happen today.....  Please talk to a customer service agent >_<
It took FORVER to find a free agent or a open Delta Customer Service Phone.....  Once I got through they re-booked me on the 7pm flight :( The 4-5 & 6pm flights were all booked and the phone who rushed the customer service desks got those flights.....
So I basically was in the airport from 11am till 7pm...... Like if I had a full-time job, that's a whole days work!  Also LGA doesn't having 'smoking lounges' like the rest of the free world!!!!  By 5pm, I needed a ciggy break! So I had to exit go outside and go back through security, but I didn't have anything else to do... It gave me more time to bond with my new airport friends.
But in the end! I got a $7 food voucher! Ummm thanks but you can't buy a meal in the airport for $7!!!  My airport friend & I tried to get margaritas from Chilli's but apparently food vouchers are like only for actual food. Um, eww! It's a Delta meal voucher not a freakin' food stamp!
I did score a $100 travel voucher!!!! Whoo-whoo!!! There are so many places I want to visit this year!!!  I want to back home! Visit Ms. Katrina in MIAMI or Ms. KT in SoCal or Ms. Wuzzy in Hawaii!!!
Most importantly I made it back to ATL safely at 11:00pm.....  Then taxi guy couldn't figure out where I live and I had to guide him...  I think if I have to do the navigational work he owes me at least $10!

While I was home my mom & I really, really, really wanted to go into the city and see West Side Story! (She was in it when she was in high school and it brings her lots of happy memories).  She had a promo/discount ticket card and we went online to order and then we read the date!! The promo starts next week. Whoops!  Regular tickets were quite high because the show is very popular and started in the fall.  So we decided we still wanted to spend a day in NYC so we randomly decided to see MEMPHIS!!!
Here's a brief description:
TURN UP THAT DIAL! From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, by way of hit runs at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, comes a hot new Broadway musical - inspired by actual events - with heart, soul and energy to burn. He's a young, white radio DJ named Huey Calhoun (Chad Kimball), whose love of music transcends race lines and airwaves. She's a black singer named Felicia Farrell (Montego Glover), whose career is on the rise, but who can't break out of segregated clubs. When the two collaborate, her soulful music reaches radio audiences everywhere, and the Golden Era of early rock 'n' roll takes flight. But as things start to heat up, whether the world is really ready for their music - or their love - is put to the test.
A thrilling theatrical event that combines Broadway splendor with the roots of rock, MEMPHIS features an original story by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and a brand-new score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan. Directing is Tony® nominee Christopher Ashley (Xanadu) and choreography is by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys). The cast also features Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Tony nominee Michael McGrath and Cass Morgan.
Get ready to experience all the exuberance and the emotion...the beauty and the controversy...of a wondrous, defining time in our history.
You're tuning in to MEMPHIS.....

We knew nothing about the show, lol!! It looked good on the website so we got some good center mezz seats (I'm not a big fan of Orchestra seating b/c your usually eye level to the stage and you need to look up to see the show)... Mezzanine is usually great.  Most theaters on Bway are kinda small & old historic, so there's usually not a bad seat in the house.  I've sat Balcony a few times and had no problems seeing the show.

We watched some clips on YouTube and decided we made a good random decision.

After the show we walked around Time Square and people watched, shopped. It was really crowed because it was the Sunday after Christmas. I snapped the same touristy pictures that I take every time I'm in Times Square.

Need Art? 2 for $10!

After the show we went to Juniors in Times Square.  I love their pickles!!  I loved the holiday Cheesecake box decor!

Dirty Mann Hot Dogs!!!  I was too stuffed for one >_< Nothing compares to a NYC dirty man HOT DOG!!  It's something about that yellowish/greenish water that they marinate in.

Luv Y'all!
  Mean It!
