Holiday Baking with Me :)

Hi Y'all!!!  Consecutive blog posts??  Yep!! I really want to try to be a better blogger and update more frequently.  I kind of fell out of the loop & I miss you guys!!!  So my one of my resolutions is to work more on keeping my site updated and to keep in better contact with my Blogger B!tches!!! XoXo  I may not always leave comments but I'm always stalking!

Before I went home for the holidays my mom asked me to bring home some Red Velvet Cake Mix! We can never find the mix where I live.  Red Velvet must be regional or something....Red Velvet is my favorite cake!! When I get married I don't want a traditional cake I want Red Velvet Cupcakes!!!! Yumm! So here's a tutorial Kendall style!!!!

You should find it in the baking isle! It's like less than $1.00!!!

It should look like this.....

Ok, now comes the hard part! You need to find 3 eggs, oil, & water...... Luckily my all that stuff was in my momma's fridge!!!

Don't forget to pre-heat the oven!!!

I like to use the big spoon because it makes me feel like I'm really doing some serious baking! If you wipe your forehead a few times it makes it look like your really working hard! My mom fought me and made me use the electric hand mixer....

I wanted the cake to be layered with frosting in the middle, so I used two 8" pans.. You need to spray them with Pam and a little flour, so it doesn't stick...

Set the timer!

I get nervous about burning stuff, so I always set the oven a few minutes early....

Put the pans in...

Next is my favorite part!!!  Cleaning the bowl!!!

*Eat cake batter at your own risk.  I will not be responsible for any deaths resulting from licking cake batter..

When your sure it's ready, put on your oven mitts and take out the cakes..  Let them cool for a while.  In the meanwhile you can update your twitter status, relax, or harass your mom....

After the cakes cool down it's time for the icing!! I forgot how long it took to cool the cakes...  I have "attention issues" sometimes, I actually forgot that I was baking a cake.  You can assign this task to a more responsible person... Like my mom she let me know when it was time...

You can make your own Cream Cheese icing, but honestly just baking the cake was a lot of work!! Break out a tub of this magic stuff!!! You can find it in the same asile as the cake mix!

Now frost one cake....

Then plop the other cake on top....

Continue to ice....

I had a bit of a FAIL!!  I just shoved the uneven hole with more icing :) Whoever gets that peice gets an extra icing surprise!!!

It didn't come out as clean as I wanted it too..I lied and said that I decorated it with red holiday sprinkles.... Oh well! I'm not the Cake Boss!!! I'm Just A Girl...

Luv Y'all
  Mean It!
