Drugstore vs. Department Store~ Miliani Eye Pencil vs. UD 24/7Liner

Hey Y'all!

I was in desparate need of a new black eye liner pencil, for my lower lash line and waterline... I feel naked without it. If you know me then you know I'm very picky about my eye liners.. I expect the following.. A dark and rich black liner that  lasts all day.. I'm not really asking for much..

My holy grail eye liner pencil is Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Zero... As you can see in the pic. I'm down to a bunch of liner nubs (yep there's more, I'm a liner nub hoarder)... Well my nubs are almost pretty useless. They are getting to short to sharpen :(

My schedule has been hectic lately and I don't have the time or engery or the willpower to lack temptation to go to Ulta or Sephora to pick up a new one. Also the UD Liners retail for $18.

I heard good things about Milani's Eye Pencils so I was in CVS the other night and I decided to grab one and test it...

Feeling Blue Tonight ~FOTN

Hey Y'all!!!

For some reason I have a hard time rocking blue eyeshadow. There's a thin line between it looking cute and like a bad drag queen... I also always associate blue eyeshadow with hot weather and summer time :) It was hot and humid today so I decided to practice with the blues. Practice makes perfect. I am getting better (I hope). I've found my mistake with blue eyeshadow I tend to bring it up to high and blend up too much.

Lippies I Can't Live Without ~ Tag

Hey Y'all!!

I got tagged... So here are my lippies that I can't live without. I choose six and of course there are more, but these are my absolute favorites.

Ok, I can technically live without them. I'd be really cranky though if I didn't have my favorites. :)

I'm surprised that I didn't throw any of my MAC lippies in there. Maybe because they are EMPTY and  stashed away for Back to MAC :)

 

 

1. Urban Decay Pocket Rocket ~ Color: James- It a perfect shiny pink gloss. It smells like Creme Brulee.

2. L'oreal Color Juice ~ Color: Peek-a-Boo Clear #920- I love this lip gloss because I used to have a Lancome Juicy Tubes obsession and those cost about $17-$20. This gloss is pretty much the same. Its very shiny and it's the perfect high shine lipgloss for me.

3. Covergirl Wet Slicks Fruit Spritzers ~ Color: #555- I love the way that this lippie compliments my skin tone. It's very shiny (I like high shine). Doesn't stick to my hair. It also tastes and smells like mint, but it's not and overpowering smell or taste.

4. Hello Kitty Grape Flavor Lip Gloss ~ Color: Grape (shut up I know grape isn't a color). The color is very sheer. I love this lippie because it's very shiny tastes and smells like grape, and it's Hello Kitty :)

5. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick~Color: Cocoa Butter. This isn't really a lippie it's a lip balm. I'm seriously addicted to this product. I've been a fiend for years. It's holy grail status. I always have 2 in my car,  2 or 3 in my purse, and on my night stand. I think I reapply in my sleep.

6. L'oreal Paris High Shine ~ Color: #6G It's dark pink lip gloss. It's not as "high shine" as described on the package and I find it to be a bit drying at times, but I still love it. It's tricky to find pink lippies that complement my skin tone.

Smokey Eye Addiction

Hey Y'all...

Hi, my name is Kendall and I have an addiction (admitting the problem is the first step..) I am addicted to smokey eyes... It's bad y'all. Give me a color and I will smoke it out, any color seriously.

I got an email announcement from one of my favorite makeup lines Urban Decay. They've been on a roll this week. The Black Palette is HERE... I want this palette like now, asap!!! My mind is telling me NO you don't need it, now pay your bills. I hate when my mind is the boss of me :(

I wrote a post earlier this week about the Naked Palette. My main reason is because it's full of Urban Decay duplicates that I already own. The Black Palette is new to me, no dupes!!! I checked my Ammo Palettes and Book of Shadows II to confirm.  My only wish is that Oil Slick would of been included because it's one of my favorite colors, and I'm hitting some serious pan on it. :(

Easy Smokey Black Eye FOTN

Hi Y'all!!

I wanted to share a quick and easy Black Smokey Eye look. I was headed to Aurum Lounge in Mid-town Atlanta for my friends birthday Party and I was in the mood for a smokey black eye look. I've been quite obsessed with the black smokey this winter. It's become one of my go to looks.

Step #1 ~ Prep & Prime your eye. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Step #2 ~ Apply a black base on your eyelid and bring it slightly above your crease. I used MAC's Blacktrack Paint Pot. I also like to use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean for this type of look. Don't worry if its not perfect, that's what blending, makeup wipes and Q Tips are for.

Step #3~ Apply a Black Eye Shadow in your crease and blend it out and up. I used Urban Decay's Oil Slick (Black with silver glitter). I also applied my highlight color MAC Woodwinked on the brow bone.

Step #4~ Press a black shadow onto your lid. I used Too Faced Black Suede.

Step #5 ~Apply lashes (if your in the mood). I also lined my waterline and lower lash line using Urban Decays 24/7 Pencil Liner in Zero. I used Ardell Lashes #106 -Black.

*The flash washed out the color a bit and makes it appear more silver than black...

Step #6~Fix your brows. Blend out any harsh lines. Clean up any glitter fallout (Oil Sick is quite glittery). Line your upper lash line with a black liner. I used NYX Liquid liner in Jet Black.

Step #7 ~ Finish your face! I like to apply my foundation etc. after I finish my eyes especially when I'm using dark colors or shadows with a lot of fallout so when I'm done with my eyes I can clean it up and not ruin my foundation etc.

Let's Be Neutral & Naked

Hi Y'all!

I received an email from Urban Decay announcing that their infamous Naked Palette is available again for purchase on their website and will soon be available in stores! I thought I'd share because I know a lot of people who are trying to get their hands on this palette.

I'm a big fan of Urban Decay's espcially their 24/7 Pencil Eyeliners and their eyeshadows. Although the NAKED palette is beautiful and is perfect for someone looking for a nuetral palette, I think I may end up passing on it for now. I already have a a lot of these colors between my Book of Shadows II Palette Ammo Palette and single shadows in my collection. Off the top of my head I counted 7 colors that I already have.

When I really looked into it it would only make sense for me to purchase this palette for "collection" reasons or for backups of colors I really like and honestly I own a lot of eye-shadows and I could probably dupe many of the colors from other brands especially from my Two Faced Neutral Eye Kit (which I love and is slightly cheaper than the UD Naked Palette.

The Naked Palette has also increased in price a bit because instead of getting a 24/7 liner eyeliner pencil they threw in their Good Karma Brush. It's retailing for $48 which is a good deal if you take the price of single shadows, Primer Potion and the brush into account.

Eyeshadows Included~Virgin (nude satin), Sin (champagne shimmer), Naked (buff matte), Sidecar (beige sparkle), Buck (brown matte), Half Baked (bronze), Smog (golden brown shimmer), Darkhorse (bronze-plum shimmer), Toasted (taupe-bronze), Hustle (mocha shimmer), Creep (near-black metallic), Gunmetal (dark grey metallic).

Even though I originally wanted this palette I'm glad that I took a step back and really thought about it. I have seen the palette and its great and I would recommend it to someone looking for a high quality neutral palette or to some looking to build their stash. I do wish that Urban Decay would come out with more great colors and stop recycling and remixing existing ones into new palettes.  >_<

Real Post, No Word Vomit! Triple Product Review

Hi y'all!!! My broke behind has a product review!! I really had no business in Sephora....  I'm in a new city and to be 'safe'  I had to check out the malls.  So far my favorite mall is the Perimeter Mall, which is about 20mins from where I'm staying.  Besides I needed to go meet the girls at Sephora and see if they are stalkerish like the ones in CT......  I walked in with two swatches on my hand...

I swatched them at Ulta that I happened to find on my way and I wanted to compare them to the MUFE liquid liner.  When it comes to black liquid liner I a bold black almost shiny-ish line. A lot people recommend Fluidline, which I already own but it doesn't really change my life....
I had a psycho pic of the 3 swatches in my phone b/c I tweeted them for opinions, but I must of deleted it. Out of the 3 MUFE won! Figures it was the most expensive *rolls eyes at empty wallet*...  Just a tip, it goes on really wet! I wish the formula was a less runny, I'm not a fan of the brush b/c I like me line a little thicker, so I have to do it twice, but no big deal.

I was also searching for a new mascara. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and step away from my HG Loreal Voluminous & Lash Blast.. Yeah, I mix mascaras! They all do different stuff!

I bought L'oreal Telescopic Explosion and it's alright, didn't change my life.. The wand ball does work for getting all up in your lashes but, I found that too much product gets on the ball wandy thing..... it's not a FAIL but not a win............

I let my cousin Monica borrow it and she feels the same and stole my new phrase 'it didn't change my life' but with a southern twang. So I was still on the prowl.  While I was in Sephora I noticed the sales girl had, nice lashes and she said she uses Bare Ecentuals Buxom Lash Mascara.  So I copied her and grabbed it. I really like it! It's black black and doesn't smudge or fade. I love it!!!  I love the brush, the shape of the brush let's you get all up in your lashes.  I can even get my non-existent bottom lashes with the wand!

I'm on the hunt for a hot roller set!!!! Please leave me a comment with any suggestions & opinions.  I want one that has at least 6-8 jumbo or XL curlers, and the rest large and medium and maybe a few smalls ones.  I'm rocking long ass extensions so I need a set that's geared toward long hair.

My next project is to master individual lashes, I watched my cousin Krissy get them done, and I think if I study some YT tutorials I'll be able to get it down! I'm interested b/c people can wear them for up to 1 or 2 weeks if they don't use any oils around the eye.

I'm so sorry for being a bad blogger.  I'm trying to keep up with everybody, but when moving, getting used to my new environment and keeping up with school, I'm a hott mess.  I was feeling sad and homestick, wanting my mommy like I'm 4yrs old, but I spent the day and over night with me cousin Krissy who lives in Columbus, GA (1hr 20mins from ATL), and I feel better!!
We went to the Columbus mall and I kept Damia- 3yrs old, and Damien- 5wks old while Krissy got beautified in the nail salon.  She had a formal last night for her hubby's graduation to 'Officer' (I think I may have the rank wrong, b/c he has alot of pins on his jacket. I'm going back tomorrow for the official graduation ceremony.  While Krissy and big Damien went to the formal dinner.  I watched the kids, I love kids and babies and for some reason little kids love me, my mom calls me the baby whisperer. When I have kids my baby kid powers wont work and I'll have bad a$$ kids that will get chancletas en la cabeza!!!

Yes, she's wearing heels, lol.... I have her a pedi and we played Toddlers & Tiaras, lol

Little man was chillin' in the swing, as long as I kept the bears over his head spinning.  He was a happy baby :)

Where Have I Been? Hair Porn & FOTD

Hi Y'all! I feel like I've been neglecting my DOLLS!!!!.  The last week or so have been super crazy.
  
Here's Why:

1.-I've been doing marketing,PR, and menu design for Maxwell's Sports-Bar Grill my friends new place during the day and on the weekend nights, Thurs.-Sat. I've been "keeping an eye on things" Thursday is the crazy night the college crowd is out on the prowl.....I've been "keeping an eye on the bar" meaning running around after drunk college kids and re-hanging pics on the wall and making sure there's toilet paper in the bathrooms, telling people that salt & pepper shakers and ketchup bottles aren't TOYS and making sure everyone is having a good time! Ok, so it's not as stressful as it sounds because I make I have a drink in my hand while I do it :) Since my friend owns the place I get very overly concerned; and I want everything to run smoothly when she isn't there and I go into organizational smooth running mode!

2.- Last week I got an email from my school stating that I've been DISMISSED! Yep, straight up kicked out. My school uses some retarded ass scale called SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress), and my summer term grades HAVE YET TO BE POSTED so it looked like I failed 3 courses......  So they kicked me out!!!!  De-registered me, and took away my finanical aid 3 days before the Fall Term began.....  I knew something was wrong so I bitched and fought like the only child brat that I can be and it turns out that when I withdrew from school in 2007 when I was really sick (I had an infection in my jawbone and nerve damage in my lip from having my wisdom teeth removed), the school mis-calculated my SAP, they also didn't change my Fall status back to "part-time" and it was all messed up, but it's fixed and I got back into all my classes, my tuition is paid and I got a really cute pink binder to motivate me :)  I thought I couldn't do math! Someone at SUNY Empire State College can't to do math either! My mathematical retardedness doesn't effect other peoples LIVES! Just messes up my bank account...

3.- I'm dangerously addicted to the game Wedding Dash on my laptop and Sally's Spa on my BB Storm... Thanks Diana!
Like I have time to be stressed out over some games!!! >_<  If you want these games don't buy them from the website for $19.99 take your behind to Target they have them for $9.99!!!  To download them on a Blackberry I think it's like $5 or something.....

4.- I got my hair did last Monday but my new FABULOUS Weavologist Ms. Anya! I really wanted to go back to straight hair but before I invest in ordering it from an Indian Remy Vendor, I figured I do a test run with some BSS Hair (Beauty Supply Store)... So I used two Packs of Outre Velvet crap or something (I only plan to wear this install for about a month until I leave for ATL! We decided to do my hair on Labor Day and we figured the at least the Asian Hood BSS would be open NOPE!!! They were doing nails and making food but not selling hair!!! So we ended up called the Beauty Supply in the Waterbury Mall and they were open!!!!!  On my way to the mall, I ran into my ex and he called like "why you creepin' at my mall"....  Mind you he caught me WEAVELESS, lol he didn't even notice.... So we get the goods, I got upset b/c she had no "quality" hair in length whore lengths like 18'-22", so I'm rocking 16" which looks like 18'' but I miss my dramatic 22'' but crack tickling' hair....... So I go to pay and to my DEBIT CARD IS MISSING LIKE GONE!!!!!  I didn't have any credit cards b/c they are in my freezer hidden in a block of ice. I'd usually like flip out and call the cops and report it stolen but I needed to get my hair did that day!! So I called up the ex and told him the situation and he rescued me so I could buy my hair :) So without here's my new look!!! I'm gonna show y'all a before pic!!!!  My hair is growing like fire since I've been wearing full weaves for a year.... So here's some hair porn for y'all......
