10 Years Later...

WARNING: This is a long entry b/c y'all know that I talk a lot and it's pic heavy, consider yourself WARNED!

Hi, y'all! So I went to my TEN YEAR High School reunion last weekend because I'm corny like that... I've also been under a lot of stress up here in CT, and I just needed to go back home! Lawng Island (Long Island), how I miss it! I planned to leave on Friday May 1st EARLY (like 1pm that's early for me), but I was unprepared bc I had finals all week and I was ready to go and I noticed that I had a freaking headlight out argghh. So I did what any ignorant/lazy car owner would do, I took it to the dealer. I know Autozone is like down the road but I just got my nails done on Thurs. and I wasn't about to dig around under the hood of my car. So $40 later ("labor and materials", my car isn't under the 36,000 warranty anymore so I wasn't covered. I also had a bunch of last minute errands to run so I didn't leave CT until 4pm! Driving down to Long Island on a Friday is a nightmare... Leaving at 4pm is straight up retarded... Of course soon as I hit the highway the torrential downpours began >_<.... I drove and sat in traffic for a lifetime, and I had to pee, like real bad like if I had a diaper or some kinda lining on my seat I would of have peed in my car! Luckily I was near my other g'mas house and prayed to GOD that she'd be home so I could pee... She was, and since it's rude to pee and leave I hung out at her house for an hour which was nice, I'm not as close with her like I was with my other g'ma. So I left her house in Queens and made it down to my hotel finally by 8pm!!! Yes, it took my 4 f-in hours to get to Long Island, it should take 2 hours tops! I checked into my hotel the Holiday Inn Express (b/c I'm high class like that..

Since I got in so late I kinda wanted to just chill, so I called my girl Natalie!!

Luckily Natatlie was able to ditch the kids with her husband and come out and play with me so we went to TGI Friday's and caught up and had some drinks. Me 2 Pomegranate Martinis & Natalie 2 Long Island Iced Teas...
Then we headed back to her house and I got to see the latest addition to her family Kingston Carter!!!

I also got to see her two daughters Kayla & Kaylin. Kayla was having a sleepover with a friend so what did tipsy me and tipsy Natalie do. Made the children dance. In African American and Latino cultures it is perfectly acceptable normal behavior to make your children entertain and perform for company no matter what time it is. I've been waken up many times as a child to "come here and dance girl"! Kayla can dance! She did the whole Micheal Jackson Bad routine (crocth grabs and all) and the Hoedown Throwdown from Hannah Montana. I wish I recorded it!!!

So after the entertainment at Natalie's I headed back to my 5 Star hotel at like 1am.... I talked to my friend Ryan, from high school stopped by joined me for a nightcap of Nuvo (I'm soo addicted to Nuvo) and Bacardi Melon and we watched TV, seriously.....

Saturday I woke up kinda late bc I stayed up till like 6am watching TV with Ryan. I did a drive by of my old house *tear*, hit up White Castle for a good breakfast/lunch (there's no White Castles in CT). I went to Ulta!!! My first Ulta haul (no Ulta's in CT). I think I posted what I pick up in another entry. By the time I did all that it was time to go back to the hotel and get ready. I started getting ready at like 3 to be out by 8pm... (That included a nap & shower). I promised my girl Meredith that I wouldn't be late.. I think I woke up around 6pm and showered then got hooked on a Hannah Montana marathon on Disney curled my hair with my new HOLY GRAIL CURLING IRON that I got from Ulta. (Hot Tools 1 1/4)

My Bathroom Boudoir.... The other side of my beauty madness... Choosing my must pack out of my stash was really hard, I felt like a bad mother for leaving my other makeup children at home. My makeup is in DRAWERS, but I kept my train case for travel.

My outfit for the night was black & gold so I went with a gold smokey eye.
(I did my eyes first so if I jacked them up I could easily "erase")..
I pretty much used UDPP, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Iced Mocha (thank you Vanessa for helping me choose a base via BB Messenger te amo mi e-wifey)

Me & Ryan on our last day of high school, they would ring the last bell 5 mins early for seniors and play "These Are the Times to Remember by Billy Joel, and we'd do our last walk around the school and cry, lol 1999Dang, I've know him for a long ass time!

Overall it was a great night! It was good seeing my old hood/barrio. It was open bar, and y'all know I drank my $60 worth :) Sucks b/c my drunkie ass lost an eyelash, oh well....


Of course we hit up White Castle after!!! It's open 24/7, the person in front of us ordered $78 in WHITE CASTLE!!! Everything there costs like 61 cents or no more than $2... We were on line a really long time trapped in the drive-tru.

Help! I Anit Got No Clothes!

Hi, Y'all! So I have a little problem. I have no freaking CLOTHES! I mean I do. I'm not walking around nekkid, but.. My clothes are boring & lame. My closet is full of long sleeved fitted tee shirts in every possible color and cut from Target or Old Navy. What the HELL is my problem? Well 50% of my problem is that I hate winter and I could really care less about my "winter clothes". I don't really wear sweaters because I'm always hot when I'm inside somewhere. I also don't own a cute coat because "I hate coats". I just have a waist length down coat. I actually have a nice Calvin Klein Pea Coat that my mom bought for me because she always said "Kennnn you need a nice winter wool coat just in case we have to go somewhere dressy". Well the next week my Grandmother passed away then my Uncle so I hate that coat & haven't worn it since their funerals :(
I think part of it is because when I was with the "ex" we never really went anywhere & I became a "comfort dresser". Long sleeve fitted tees & jeans. I also gained a lot of weight when I was with for the first year. Then I lost most of it (thank you Weight Watchers), and now I'm trying to get back to my "single self" weight.
I had such a problem finding something cute to wear in NYC this weekend. I promised "C" that I wouldn't wear a fitted black tee & jeans! I ended up wearing jeans & a fitted black short sleeve scoop neck tee with puffy cap sleeves. I have NO going out clothes. I think a lot of my clothes are up in my attic in my trunk (in those awesome bags that you vaccum the air out of), but I know I'll climb my behind up there and find nothing cute!
I think my main problem is that I hide my shape. I'm 5'3'' & CuRvY! I have boobs, hips & thighs. I'm a size 12-14-16 (depending on the make). That's not an easy range to work with. Especailly tops because of my super boobage ( . ) ( . ) tops that fit them end up too big and flowy in the middle and I end up looking preggo. Smaller sizes look like I'm trying to squeeze the life out of my poor girls.
I usually end up always wearing black. Jeans & a black fitted tee, v-neck tee, tank top..... Like I'm always headed to a casual funeral or something....
Spring & Summer are coming and I want to be able to go out & look cute. Sometimes I'm going to want to look a little sexy..... So I found a website that has some cute stuff & it looks like it would flatter my shape but of course I had to click on PLUS SIZE..... Anything size 12 + is PLUS SIZE! That just puts me off and fustrates me isn't the average American chic a size 12/14?
I also need a killer outfit for my 10 year Highschool reuion on May 2nd. I have my reasons but I can't post on here. If y'all wanna know hit me up on Twitter or AIM. It's a good STORY!!!

The site is called Great Glam. Some it's a lot of club wear, Playboy Bunny wear & hoochie clothes (not knocking it, I'd rock it if I could) but they have some regular stuff. The prices are really cheap (like $20 each) so I don't know how good the quality is, maybe like RAVE (no website, they cheap!) or RAINBOW, but I'm mainly looking for stuff to wear when I go out, not everyday. I tried Mandy's but everything in that store is super tiny >_My hair is on point, my makeup game is on point but I'm such a boring dresser. I mean I won best dressed in 2nd Grade! I have a reputation to maintain.
